Navigant Credit Union opens First South County Branch

Navigant Credit Union’s newest branch has opened its doors as of Wednesday, January 17, 2018. The opening comes as a spin-off of a previously existing Chartway Credit Union.

The newest branch is located at 172 Main Street, Wakefield, RI, and will be Navigant Credit Union’s first branch in South County, joining 17 other locations statewide.

“Consumer demand for a Navigant Credit Union presence in South County has grown over the last several years. By finalizing this spin-off and opening our Wakefield branch, we now have the opportunity to bring our unique brand of customer service and a variety of banking products to Rhode Islanders in the southern part of the state,” said Gary E. Furtado, President/CEO, Navigant Credit Union.

Over the past two months, Navigant Credit Union has expanded into Kent County, with branch openings in Warwick (2100 Warwick Avenue) and Coventry Crossing (2300 New London Turnpike, East Greenwich).

At least 25 new jobs will be created to support the three new locations.
