St. Louis, MO – On April 30th, Neighbors Credit Union hosted their annual Shred Day.
Neighbors Credit Union teamed up with Cintas to provide the community with the opportunity to shred documents containing personal information. Members of the credit union as well as the community showed up with bags and boxes of personal documents for shredding. Over one hundred people brought items to be shredded; totaling over 3,000 pounds of documents!
“We are delighted each year to provide shredding services to our members and community. In an age when protecting your personal information becomes a challenge and a requirement, we are happy to be part of the solution,” stated Denise Brady, Vice President of Retail Sales and Service. “Going forward, we also encourage our members to “go green” by having their financial statements delivered to them electronically. Besides contributing to the health of the planet, it is also a safer method for receiving and protecting personal information.”
Neighbors Credit Union is dedicated to educating the community about the importance of protecting yourself from identity theft. For more information on identity theft visit the security center at, www.NeighborsCU.org. There, you will find great tools for protecting your identity and guidelines for managing identity theft once it occurs.
