Neighbors FCU raises $21,000 for tuition assistance with sporting clays tournament
BATON ROUGE, LA (October 24, 2023) — Neighbors FCU held their annual Clays for a Cause sporting clays tournament Friday, October 20th, 2023 at Bridgeview Gun Club. Teams from regional businesses competed to raise money for the Neighbors Capital Area Foundation.
Teams competed in a 100-shot course. The team from A+ Lawn Care won first place and a $600 cash prize. The second place team from Loomis donated their $400 cash prize back to the Neighbors Capital Area Foundation, while each member of the third place team from Grand Construction won a $200 cash prize.
This event would not have been possible without our generous sponsors, who contributed a total of $21,000. Special thanks goes to Fiserv, who contributed $5000 as an Expert Shooter sponsor.
Proceeds from this event benefit the Neighbors Capital Area Foundation’s scholarship program, the Neighbors Way Tuition Assistance Award. To date, the Foundation has granted over $250,000 in scholarships to over 50 students in the Greater Baton Rouge Area.
About Neighbors Federal Credit Union
Neighbors Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative operating as an association dedicated to "people helping people." A handful of educators started Baton Rouge Teachers in 1954 with a shoe box, a couple hundred dollars and the goal of making financial services available to school system employees in our area.
Now, Neighbors Federal Credit Union is the largest community-chartered credit union in the state of Louisiana with over 76,000 members and over $1 billion in assets. Since that time, Neighbors has undergone a variety of changes, but the mission has stayed the same: Enhance members' financial well-being and be a partner in the communities Neighbors serves.
