Neighbors Federal Credit Union is set to host an opening ceremony of the 9th annual Neighbors Day on Monday, October 14th at 9 am. The ceremony will be held at The Baton Rouge Zoo (3601 Thomas Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70811) and will be joined by Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome.
Each year in October, NFCU’s 250 employees gather for Neighbors Day – a city-wide day of service to give back to the Greater Baton Rouge Area. Employee volunteers partner with over a dozen organizations to in GBR to contribute more than 1,000 hours of service to the community.
Neighbors Day was established after the Great Flood of 2016. Countless employees and members were deeply affected. NFCU staff members went out into the community to support their neighbors in need leaving a lasting impression. An annual day of service was established in their honor.
The mission of Neighbors Day is to not only provide much-needed assistance to those in need but to inspire others in Baton Rouge to give back to the community.
