Neighbors FCU’s hosts 7th annual “Neighbors Day”

Neighbors Federal Credit Union celebrated its 7th annual Neighbors  Day. Team members volunteered at 11 area non-profits, including:

  • Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy Center
  • Brave Heart
  • Cara’s House
  • Companion Animal Alliance of Baton Rouge
  • The Fellowship Center Thrift Store
  • Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge
  • The Family Village
  • Keep Tiger Town Beautiful
  • Kids’ Orchestras
  • The Millenium Harvest Revival Project
  • Society of St. Vincent de Paul

Each year in October, NFCU’s employees gather for Neighbors Day – a city-wide day of service to  give back to the Greater Baton Rouge Area. Employee volunteers partner with a dozen  organizations in GBR to contribute more than 1,000 hours of service to the community. This year’s efforts were recognized by Mayor Sharon Weston Broome, who officially proclaimed  October 9th, 2023, as Neighbors Day.

Neighbors Day was established after the Baton Rouge-area flood with countless employees and  members deeply affected. NFCU staff members went out into the community to support their  coworkers and neighbors in need, leaving a lasting impression. An annual day of service was  established in their honor.

The mission of Neighbors Day is to not only provide much-needed assistance to those in need  but to inspire others in Baton Rouge to give back to the community as part of the Neighbors Capital Area Foundation.
