Neighbors grand reopening for the “Branch of the Future” in Denham Springs set for December 6th

BATON ROUGE, LA (November 21, 2017) — Neighbors will host the grand reopening of our previously flooded branch in Denham Springs Wednesday, December 6th.Neighbors is welcoming everyone to come celebrate regardless of membership status.

After the unfortunate events of 2016’s flood, Neighbors took the opportunity to rebuild, redesign and reimagine the Denham Springs branch. The “Branch of the Future,” will be fully equipped with the most modern technology and sleek design to minimize wait times and speed up delivery of products and services.

In September, Neighbors introduced our Interactive Teller Machines equipped with the Live Teller System at the Perkins branch. Neighbors will add five of these to the Denham Springs branch including two in the drive thru. These ITMs will allow for quicker service while preserving the personal touch of a traditional teller. These machines are part of many new features in the “Branch of the Future.”

“After the devastating flood of 2016, we had to resist the desire to hurry and rebuild without planning for the future,” Neighbors President and CEO Steve Webb said. “With our new branch, we wanted to let the Denham Springs community and in fact the entire Livingston Parish community know that we are committed to them for the long term. That’s why we started from scratch and completely remodeled this branch into something special.”

The grand reopening will be an all-day event December 6th starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m. at our branch located at 175 Rushing Road West, Denham Springs, LA 70726.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will commence at 9:30 a.m. Denham Springs mayor, Gerard Landry will be cutting the ribbon.

Neighbors will provide complimentary food, drinks and activities all day long. Catering will include breakfast, lunch, frozen yogurt, popcorn, a mobile barista and Tin Roof beer sampling for adults 21 years of age or older.

Neighbors will have a variety of activities for kids and adults including the Neighbors Scavenger Hunt. Attendees can complete the Scavenger Hunt by exploring some of the neat new features in the Branch of the Future and submit their entry for a chance to win. Prizes include a 50-inch Vizio 4K TV, three Amazon Echo Dots, five Google Chromecasts and a variety of gift cards that can be used in the Denham Springs area.

There will be plenty of other fun games and prizes available throughout the day. Santa Clause will be on site to take complimentary pictures with children and tell Christmas stories from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

About Neighbors Federal Credit Union

Neighbors Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative operating as an association dedicated to "people helping people." A handful of educators started Baton Rouge Teachers in 1954 with a shoe box, a couple hundred dollars and the goal of making financial services available to school system employees in our area.

Now, Neighbors Federal Credit Union is the largest community chartered credit union in the state of Louisiana with over 76,000 members and over $1 billion in assets. Since that time, Neighbors has undergone a variety of changes but the mission has stayed the same: Enhance members' financial well-being and be a partner in the communities Neighbors serves.
