New CUNA CFO Council white paper examines “The Art of the Turnaround”
MADISON, WI (November 17, 2015) — The CUNA CFO Council has published a new white paper, “The Art of the Turnaround: How Credit Unions Fought Their Way Back.”
In the wake of the Great Recession, credit unions were merging and/or being liquidated at higher volumes than they are today. This white paper profiles four credit unions that almost lost it all, but managed to bring respective business models back from the brink and today are thriving. The white paper investigates:
- the factors, or combination of factors, that lead to financial peril,
- how the credit union righted the ship, including strategy, staffing, revenue and expense, and
- the lessons that were learned so the same perilous situation is avoided.
