In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, New Horizons Credit Union in Mobile, AL understands the importance of supporting the community and presented a check for $500.00 for Easter meals and COVID-19 supplies to The Penelope House made possible by Credit Union employee fund raising efforts through the Horizons Helping Hands program.
New Horizons Credit Union staff raised funds through special jean days fundraising that support Horizons Helping Hands’ designated local charities. Penelope House was chosen based on the results of an annual internal survey whereby the Credit Union’s staff selects the Corporate Charities they want the Credit Union to support. For 2020, Penelope House was selected as one of the Corporate Charities.
The prevention of domestic violence through education and public awareness is the goal of Penelope House. The Penelope House provides safety, protection, and support to the victims of Domestic Violence and their children.
“I am proud with how our employees through our Horizons Helping Hands program continue to respond to the needs of our community – especially with organizations like The Penelope House so they can continue the good work they do,” said New Horizons Credit Union President/CEO, Edith Franklin.
