New server platform positions CU*NorthWest for future growth
LIBERTY LAKE, WA (November 16, 2017) — CU*NorthWest, the Liberty Lake, Washington-based cooperative CUSO, announced that it recently migrated its core production and high availability environment to the latest POWER8 server technology. The CUSO is utilizing these new servers to serve credit unions across the nation shared between three group providers.
Kinsey Hiett, the CU*NorthWest AVP of Operations noted: “The new IBM server, which handles the daily core data processing for credit unions from the data center in Yankton, was replaced with a new IBM POWER8 server. There was a lot of hard work put in by skilled team members and the execution was completed in a timely, non-disruptive manner and we couldn’t be happier with the results.”
“We were thrilled to move to this new IBM platform for its performance boost and the reliability we have always had from our IBM core servers,” added Hiett. “Its capacity to grow along with us is good for the future evolution of our CUSO. We will also be able to manage our operations more cost effectively as demand for our CU*BASE® suite continues to grow.”
