NewDay USA earns a Baltimore 2016 Top Workplaces Award
FULTON, MD (December 7, 2016) — NewDay USA, a leading provider of VA loans, is proud to announce its selection for a Baltimore 2016 Top Workplaces Award. Of the award recipients, NewDay USA was selected as the #2 “Large Company” in Baltimore. NewDay is building our nation’s leading mortgage company serving veterans, active service members, and their families.
The Top Workplace honor is awarded based solely on results of an employee feedback survey that includes such topics as career growth opportunities, employee engagement, and the work environment, among others.
“We are very pleased to again be named a Top Workplace in the greater Baltimore area,” said Rear Admiral Tom Lynch (USN, Ret.), executive chairman of NewDay USA. “We are very proud of what we are achieving together as a team and that every day we are able to come to work and change the lives of those who have fought to make our freedom possible.”
The company’s culture is based on five core values: giving back, providing opportunity, career training, resilience and integrity. NewDay demonstrates its commitment to these core values in the day-to-day work environment in a variety of ways, including through the NewDay University training and development program that prepares employees for leadership roles in mortgage banking.
Giving back is an especially important core value at NewDay. This year the volunteer programs reached a milestone with the men and women from NewDay giving more than a thousand hours of their time to local organizations. From serving meals to veterans at The Baltimore Station to support Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness, to maintaining the grounds at the National Mall’s three veteran memorials, NewDay USA’s workforce volunteer programs play a significant part in employee engagement.
“We are focused on selecting, training and developing the next generation of mortgage bankers serving the veteran community,” said Rob Posner, CEO of NewDay USA. “Giving back to service members, veterans, and our community is not just something we do – it is part of who we are.”
There are currently 600 team members of the NewDay workforce, and the company is on target to reach its goal of employing 1,000 mortgage banking professionals by the end of 2017. In addition, an estimated 200 college students will participate in the NewDay USA Internship Program – a paid program that gives students an opportunity to learn about a career in mortgage banking.
