CHADDS FORD, PA (November 14, 2023) — FMFCU Foundation and Delaware County Intermediate Unit are pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the prestigious Excellence in Teaching Award. These awards recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of educators who have made a positive impact through their innovative teaching methods and unwavering commitment to their students. The Excellence in Teaching Award serves as a testament to the remarkable efforts and dedication of these outstanding teachers.

The FMFCU Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes 20 educators each year for their outstanding contributions and innovation in education. In a demonstration of support, the FMFCU Foundation will award a total of $40,000 in grants. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 grant towards classroom expenses along with a commemorative keepsake. Furthermore, the awardee’s school will be granted an additional $1,000 to support their educational initiatives.

Nominees for the Excellence in Teaching Award can be put forward by anyone who has witnessed the positive influence of an exceptional educator, including fellow teachers, current and former students, school administrators, family members, and friends. Nominations should be based on the teacher’s performance during the current school year or their cumulative efforts throughout their teaching career. Eligible nominees must be certified active teachers in good standing, providing direct instruction to students in a classroom setting. The geographic scope includes teachers in Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, New Castle, and Philadelphia counties.
