Notre Dame Federal Credit Union announces 2020 student scholarship winners

NOTRE DAME, IN (July 29, 2020) — Notre Dame Federal Credit Union (Notre Dame FCU) awarded twenty-eight scholarships for the 2020-2021 academic school year. Each student will receive $1,500 and an accompanying 2021 summer internship within the credit union department of their choosing.

Reba Hayes, Committee Chair and Executive Administrative Assistant to the CEO, stated, “There was an evident spirit of gratitude amongst this year’s winners. Many expressed the current pandemic has caused additional financial need and uncertainty surrounding their future work opportunities. These students were relieved and thankful to receive a scholarship and future internship opportunity with the credit union.”

The scholarship committee, made up of Notre Dame FCU partners (employees) and members of its Board of Directors, selected winning candidates who demonstrated a well-rounded portfolio of academics, financial need, community involvement, leadership and participation in academic activities.

Notre Dame FCU’s President and CEO, Tom Gryp, added, “Over the last eight years, Notre Dame FCU has awarded over 125 scholarships to deserving students. Every year, my hope is that each recipient will use their award wisely to not only improve their own lives but to pay it forward to others as well.”
