Notre Dame Federal Credit Union provides relief to flood victims with innovative CARE Program
NOTRE DAME, IN (September 13, 2016) — Notre Dame Federal Credit Union (Notre Dame FCU) today announced that it will provide $500,000 in special flood relief loans to its members impacted by flood damage.
Notre Dame FCU President and CEO Tom Gryp said that Michiana’s 2016 Favorite Financial Institution will stand by its local community as it rebuilds from recent heavy rains. “The devastating effects of recent flooding has created significant hardships for many area residents,” Gryp said. “We are proud to take the lead in providing much-needed relief for our local credit union members.”
With Notre Dame FCU’s new Community Action Recovery or CARE Program, eligible members will be able to defer up to three months of payments for existing auto and credit card loans. In addition, Notre Dame FCU members impacted by area flooding can apply for a new $5,000 loan with 90 days of no payments, no loan fees, and a 1.99% APR to help members through this difficult time.
Gryp said he hopes the new CARE Program will provide immediate assistance to those who need it. “The last thing a person needs when dealing with a flooded home is worrying about making loan payments and wondering where they will get the extra funds to replace appliances, furniture and clothing for their family.”
He added, “Our members believe in us and we believe in them. This Program simply demonstrates that we take this mutual commitment and loyalty very seriously.”
