Nymeo’s community shred event raises $4,800 for Frederick County Humane Society
FREDERICK, MD (November 24, 2015) — During this season of thanks, the Frederick County Humane Society can’t be more thankful. At a Frederick Shred event fundraiser hosted by Nymeo on November 14that Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick, the Humane Society received over $2,400 from the community in support of their Emergency Assistance Program (EAP). Nymeo matched the total donation amount bringing the grand total for the program to $4,800. The EAP provides emergency financial support to families whose pets require lifesaving (and often expensive) medical treatment.
“I am so thankful for the kindness we have received from the people of Frederick County and the generosity of Nymeo for matching total donations,” said Connie Graf, Frederick County Humane Society Director. “You are making a difference in the lives of many people and their animals.”
Nymeo is a long-standing supporter of the Humane Society, sponsoring many of their major events such as Walk-n-Wag and Tails-on-Trails. Aside from helping children and the hungry, Nymeo also focuses on helping animals.
“The people of Frederick are very giving, and we appreciate the generosity during our Shred event and fundraiser for the Humane Society,” said Kathy Norris, Nymeo’s Business Development Representative. “It was moving to see people of all ages come by to show support of this important program.
Norris told the story of one young girl who held a yard sale and donated half of her proceeds to the Human Society at the Shred event.
“She brought her yard sale money to us and knew Nymeo would match it — making a bigger impact!” Norris said.
All-Shred of Frederick provided the mobile document shredding service and shredded 11 thousand pounds of paper.
“We were thrilled to see the outpouring of community support and vehicles, filled with people and pets, line up around the Keys parking lot!” Norris said.
