OCCU Foundation launches Fire Relief Fund; matching donations up to $100,000

EUGENE, OR (September 17, 2020) — OCCU Foundation (OCCUF), a philanthropic initiative of Oregon Community Credit Union (OCCU), has established a special fund in response to the wildland fires burning throughout Oregon. The fund will provide relief and support to nonprofit organizations caring for impacted Oregonians and frontline responders.

The foundation has also committed to match up to $100,000 of funds raised through the Fire Relief Fund.

“The OCCU Foundation was created to help our communities thrive. This is especially important during times like this when so many Oregonians have been impacted by wildfires,” said Ron Neumann, OCCU President & CEO and OCCUF Board Chair. “We launched the fire relief fund to respond to the needs in communities across Oregon. To help these contributions reach even further, the foundation will match up to the first $100,000 raised.”

Like OCCUF COVID-19 response efforts, the OCCUF Fire Relief Fund will be distributed to nonprofit agencies providing critical services across the state. Priority funding will be awarded to organizations assisting displaced individuals and families and those providing critical services that aid in the rebuilding and recovery process.

Tax-deductible contributions are welcome in any amount atMyOCCU.org/Fire-Relief-Fund.
