OnPath Foundation opens college and tech school scholarship applications to graduating high school seniors for the 2024-2025 school year.

METAIRIE, LA (April 11, 2024) — The OnPath Foundation launches open applications to Louisiana graduating high school seniors to help them on their educational journey to college or technical school in the 2024-2025 school year.

This scholarship award marks the second year that the Foundation will award deserving local Louisiana high school seniors financial support to help them attend college or a technical school. As the philanthropic arm of OnPath Federal Credit Union, the OnPath Foundation works as a catalyst in creating opportunities for individuals and families to build long-term financial stability and security, and to create opportunities for future generations to thrive.

For the 2024-2025 school year, OnPath Foundation will award $10,000, in the form of ten (10) $1,000 scholarships. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who are current residents of Louisiana and accepted into an accredited, post-secondary university, community college, trade, or vocational school for the 2024 fall semester.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to our local high school seniors as they embark on the next phase of their educational journey”, said Jared Freeman, President and CEO of OnPath Federal Credit Union. “The first step to breaking the poverty circle is through education, and it’s our responsibility as a community-focused financial institution to support these young adults every step of the way.”

Candace Washington Theodore, President, and Board Chair of the OnPath Foundation and Vice President of Member Engagement for OnPath FCU stated, “These scholarships provide a positive impact and a reflection of OnPath Federal Credit Union’s commitment to serving its members and the communities we serve. It’s our honor to support these deserving students’ educational future.”

Applications are being collected through 11:59 pm on April 30, 2024. Parents and students can find more information, as well as apply online through the OnPath Foundation website at OnPathFoundation.org or via email to scholarship@onpathfoundation.org.
