Orange County's Credit Union, a Santa Ana-based financial services provider with more than 116,000 Members, raised over $44,000 to donate to CHOC Children’s Hospital at the 2019 CHOC Walk in the Park presented by the Disneyland® Resort.
Over 200 Orange County Credit Union Members and Associates participated in this year’s CHOC Walk in the Park presented by the Disneyland® Resort on Aug. 11. The event kicked off with over 14,000 walkers gathering at Main Street, U.S.A for an opening ceremony and included favorite Disney characters cheering people along throughout the course in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Parks.
“Every year, we look forward to coming together with our community and participating in CHOC Walk in the Park,” said Stefanie Rupp, Community Development Manager at Orange County’s Credit Union. “The Credit Union and its Associates are beyond grateful for the exceptional services and support that CHOC provides local children and their families. We’re so proud to show our continuing support for CHOC and their mission to serve our community, a commitment that we share.”
Orange County’s Credit Union has participated in CHOC Walk in the Park presented by Disneyland® Resort for the past 10 years. This year, the Credit Union set a goal to raise $35,000 for CHOC Children’s and surpassed their goal by over $9,000. The Credit Union started fundraising efforts earlier this year by raising over $4,500 at their Shred Days where Members could safely dispose of sensitive, personal information and electronics. Associates joined forces to host various fundraisers, including raffles, give-back days at local restaurants, and Associate luncheons. Members also contributed to the Credit Union’s fundraising goal by purchasing CHOC Children’s icons and CHOCO plush bears at local Credit Union branches.
CHOC Children’s relies on local support to provide leading-edge care for infants, children and adolescents close to their homes. The annual fundraiser, presented by Disneyland Resort, ensures CHOC can continue to nurture, advance and protect the health and well-being of children in Southern California.
