Oregon State Credit Union donates $22,173 to United Way

CORVALLIS, OR (November 20, 2020) — Oregon State Credit Union has donated $22,173 to United Way of Linn, Benton & Lincoln Counties. The funds are the result of an annual United Way drive and come from donations made by credit union staff. Total funds donated exceed the drive’s fundraising goal of $18,000.

“Social responsibility is a core credit union value,” said Rick Hein, president/CEO of the credit union. “The annual United Way drive is just one of the ways our staff lives out this value. It’s a tangible expression of their commitment to the communities in which we all work and live.”

The donation will be used to provide relief to people affected by the COVID virus and by the area’s recent wildfires, said Blake Pang, president & CEO of United Way of Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties. “The credit union’s support has allowed us to raise an additional $500,000 for families who are struggling to make ends meet. We will use these funds to partner with more than 50 local non-profits who have been vetted by local volunteers to certify that the money we invest in them will be used in the most efficient and effective way.”

The donation comes on the heels of a $50,000 donation to United Way the credit union made in September.
