SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 17, 2016) — The family-owned O’Rourke & Associates has named Bridget O’Rourke as Executive Director, effective immediately. In addition to leading the firm’s stellar team of executive recruiters and consultants on a robust portfolio of new business, Bridget will also contribute nearly two decades of experience to supporting credit union boards of directors on Chief Executive Officer searches, strategic oversight of search engagements, client relationship management and new business development. Bridget stepped into the roll earlier this summer when her beloved father Gene O’Rourke – a pillar in the credit union community for over three decades and one of the most passionate advocates for the cooperative movement -passed away.
“O’Rourke & Associates has operated for over thirty years under my father’s direction. He leaves behind both an outstanding team of clients and recruiters, and a vast relationship network comprised of some of the greatest minds I have ever encountered,” says Bridget O’Rourke. “I am so grateful for the professional and personal support we have received during this transition; and it is my goal to continue rolling out the industry-leading vision upon which his legacy was built.”
Bridget began her career in public accounting working at Coopers & Lybrand, the same CPA firm where her father started his career – a Big 5 public accounting firm, where she specialized in financial institution audits and internal audits, as well as staff mentoring and leadership initiatives. She then moved to a Vice President position at a major bank for five years, providing risk management for a $1.8 billion investment portfolio. She followed that up with a position as Controller at a venture firm, before moving on to spend five years working with the senior O’Rourke as Executive Search Director at O’Rourke Career Connections. Her prior positions have also included Head of Human Resources for a $4 billion asset management firm. Bridget also brings to the team extensive experience in various aspects of financial institution operations and controls, and she volunteered on the board of a $1 billion credit union and served on the Finance Committee, Nominating Committee and was named Vice Chairman of the Board. Bridget understands the unique role credit union board members serve and the importance of a strong CEO/Board connection.

Bridget holds a Bachelor of Art in Business Economics with an Accounting Emphasis from the University of California, Santa Barbara and she became a Certified Public Accountant in 1995. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, two teenage daughters and their highly social labradoodle.
