PAHO/WHO Federal Credit Union has proudly supported the creation of a new bronze sculpture honoring the resilience and dedication of health workers across the Americas during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Standing at the PAHO Headquarters in Washington, D.C., the sculpture serves as both a remembrance and a reminder: to honor those who sacrificed so much, and to inspire future generations to uphold the principles of dedication, service, and solidarity.
“Guided by our mission to help people live healthier financial lives, we were honored to make this sculpture a reality,” said Miguel Boluda, Jr., CEO of PAHO/WHO FCU. “This tribute reflects our shared values of supporting those who dedicate their lives to improving the health and well-being of others.”
Originally conceived in 2006 by artist Gilles Collette, a former PAHO staff member, the sculpture was reimagined as a three-dimensional bronze piece following the COVID-19 pandemic. The design represents the unity and interdependence of all who serve on the frontlines of health
