HARRISONBURG, VA (July 2, 2014) -- More than 400 members enjoyed a picnic lunch at one of three branches on June 27, in celebration of Park View Federal Credit Union’s (PVFCU) 45th Anniversary. On June 30, the official charter anniversary date, festivities continued with cake and other refreshments in branches. The month long celebration included members of all ages participating in a logo item contest and trivia on facebook, a coloring page activity, and rate specials such as auto loans for 1.45% APR.
“We’ve been able to grow and be on the leading edge with new products and services, thanks to the support of our members,” President and CEO John Beiler stated. “I look forward to the next 45 years, as we continue to help improve the financial lives of our members.”
PVFCU began on the campus of Eastern Mennonite University (then College) in 1969. The credit union was run by volunteers in the early years, and housed operations on campus for 11 years. PVFCU has seen significant growth over the years, and now has almost 9,000 members with $129 million in assets. There are 2 branches in Harrisonburg, in addition to Dayton and Broadway. The credit union is a full service financial institution that includes mortgage lending and it’s own title company.
Celebrating 45 years, Park View Federal Credit Union is a member-owned cooperative that provides a full range of financial services to their members from four branch locations in the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County area.
