Park View Federal Credit Union wins 2nd place Community Outreach Award

HARRISONBURG, VA (June 1, 2016) — Park View Federal Credit Union recently received a second place Community Outreach award in the Exceptional Marketing Ideas Awards competition. The award honors credit unions that give back and serve their communities.

PVFCU won the award for their 3rd annual Community Connection held on Nov. 11, 2015.  PVFCU lived out their heritage of “Neighbors Serving Neighbors” by observing Veteran’s Day in active service to the community, to show their appreciation to many who have served the community, country and world. PVFCU employees and members served a total of 360 hours in the Harrisonburg area at non-profit organizations.

Volunteers helped with tasks such as fall yard and garden work, sorting donations and books, food preparation, maintenance projects, cleaning, office work, and wood splitting.

As part of their award, PVFCU received $1,000 to use toward future community outreach events. The award is sponsored by Card Services for Credit Unions (CSCU), the nation’s largest credit card processing association.
