Patelco Credit Union supports Second Harvest of Silicon Valley and food security among seniors

Team members write hundreds of personalized notes for seniors to add holiday cheer to food delivery boxes

DUBLIN, CA (December 10, 2021) Patelco Credit Union, a Bay Area-based credit union dedicated to the financial wellness of its members and communities, is passionate about giving back and is committed to supporting organizations helping food security in the communities it serves.

Food banks have tripled the amount of food they are distributing in response to the increased needs that arose with the pandemic. To meet this need many food banks, including Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, have created home delivery programs for seniors who have a difficult time getting out to get the food they need.

Patelco team members recently gathered to write hundreds of thoughtful messages inside cards to be included with food boxes to help spread some extra holiday cheer among seniors in need in the community.

“Second Harvest of Silicon Valley makes an incredible difference in our community and is providing valuable and essential services to so many right now,” said Wendy Haller, Patelco’s vice president of member experience. “We’ve always prioritized supporting food security and the need has never been greater – it has tripled since the onset of the pandemic and we will continue our dedication and support.”
