(Woodbury, MN – October 28, 2010) The PCU Community Foundation raised over $10,000 at its inaugural golf tournament in September. The event attracted a total of 90 golfers and more than 40 event and hole sponsors. The foundation will use the funds to aid local education, food shelf and community initiatives.
PCU Community Foundation Chairman Brian Sherrick was pleased with the turnout and generosity of participants. “We appreciate the support of our vendor partners, credit union colleagues and board members in helping to make this event a success,” Sherrick stated. ‘Without their involvement we could not have raised the funds, 100% of which will go back into our local communities. We thank them for their generosity.”
Established in 2005, the PCU Community Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) serving the greater Twin Cities metro area. It operates under the guidance of a Board of Directors, which oversees its financial management, sets policies and procedures for fundraising and grant making in accordance with its by-laws and mission.
Every dollar received by the PCU Community Foundation goes back into our local communities. If you are interested in supporting the foundation, consider making a tax-deductible donation. You can do so online at www.postalcu.org, at any PCU branch location, or by mail. Make checks payable to:
