Excellent member service is a daily mission for the 185 employees at Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU), but this year PEFCU staff are pledging to serve the Greater Lafayette community through an innovative employee benefit called Volunteer Time Off (VTO).

Through VTO, which launched in January 2010, each PEFCU employee receives four paid hours to volunteer in the local community annually. “Our credit union philosophy is ‘people helping people’,” said Bob Falk, PEFCU president and CEO. “Our staff lives that philosophy every day through their service to members. Now we’re taking that mission to the next level by making it easier for staff to serve the many essential charitable, not-for-profit organizations in this community.”
