Pelican State Credit Union is hosting a free virtual Financial Wellness Workshop on Tuesday, May 25, where attendees will learn budgeting tips for all of the expenses that come during the summer season. Beginning at 7:00 pm, the workshop will be streamed live on both Zoom and the credit union’s Facebook page.
The workshop will feature Pelican Nationally Certified Credit Counselor Lisa Fuller, as well as a guest speaker from the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Louisiana. Pelican Financial Outreach Supervisor Melanie Henderson will moderate the workshop and field all questions from attendees.
Guests who attend the workshop can expect to learn more about how to budget for summer expenses such as family vacations, daycare, and summer camps.
“Summer can be a difficult time of the year when it comes to budgeting because of the changes it presents to our financial routines,” said Henderson. “We tend to want to relax during the summer months, which can lead to a more relaxed view of how we spend our money. We wanted to provide some tips and tricks to avoid summertime overspending and help people enjoy the summer without breaking the budget.”
To RSVP for the workshop, guests can visit http://bit.ly/SummerBudgeting. Attendees are encouraged to submit their questions during registration and during the event using Zoom’s Q&A feature or the comment section on the Facebook Live post.
This workshop is completely free and open to the public, and Pelican membership is not required to attend the workshop or ask questions. To learn more about this event and any other upcoming events, visit pelicanstatecu.com/events.
