 PENSACOLA, Fla. – June 21, 2011 –Pen Air Federal Credit Union and Fiesta of Five Flags joined forces to make the 62nd Annual Fiesta of Five Flags Celebration double the fun. The Pen Air Federal Credit Union Fiesta Day Parade took place on Thursday, June 9 in downtown Pensacola. Hundreds of people gathered downtown to celebrate the heritage of this city.

This year, the President/CEO of Pen Air FCU Ron Fields was invited to lead the parade as the Grand Marshal.

“It was truly an honor to have been asked,” Fields said. “We have sponsored the Fiesta of Five Flags parade in an effort to give back to the local community.”

This is the third year Pen Air FCU has sponsored the parade.

Pen Air FCU has more than 100,000 members and 1,000 employee groups that it serves. The credit union has more than $1 billion in assets and, in June 2011, earned the BauerFinancial 5-Star Superior rating for the 82nd consecutive quarter. This year, 2011, marks Pen Air FCU’s 75^th anniversary.  

Pen Air FCU is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution chartered in 1936 to serve civil service and military employees assigned to our military bases in the area, as well as their immediate families.  Headquartered in Pensacola, Fla., Pen Air FCU is the largest locally-based financial institution in the area and now serves many other employee groups, with 15 branches in Northwest Florida and Southwest Alabama.

Fiesta of Five flags is a non-profit organization with a purpose to celebrate Pensacola heritage, promote tourism and build pride in Pensacola through festive activities which enhance the quality of life in our community.
