Pen Air FCU Recognized as a 2012 UWF Friend of the University

Pensacola, Fla.- April 18, 2012— The University of West Florida recognized Pen Air Federal Credit Union as a Friend of the University at the 2012 UWF Annual Alumni Awards on Friday, March 31. Pen Air FCU Interim President/CEO, David Tuyo, accepted the award on behalf of the Credit Union.

The Friend of the University award is presented for contributions to UWF in resulting in the creation of goodwill, increased visibility and overall growth of the university.  Pen Air FCU has a continued relationship with UWF through the UWF Alumni Affinity Credit Card, sponsorship of their growing athletic program, and as the presenting sponsor of the Argo Armada, the school’s newest campus rewards program.

“I am privileged to have such a great relationship with this astounding university,” said Pen Air FCU Interim President/CEO, David Tuyo. “UWF is such a pinnacle of education and research in our community.”

The UWF Alumni Association Affinity Visa Card was introduced in February 2011. Designed to give back to the Alumni Association and the Alumni Grant Program, the UWF card offers the same low rates and no annual fees of traditional Pen Air FCU credit cards. Pen Air FCU is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution originally chartered in 1936 to serve civil service and military employees assigned to our military bases in the area, as well as their immediate families.  Pen Air FCU now serves many other employee groups, with 19 branches in Northwest Florida and Southwest Alabama, including four student-run branches at area high schools.
