Pen Air Federal Credit Union presented $10,000 to Prodisee Pantry in support of their annual One Family One Day campaign. For just $5, Prodisee Pantry can provide one family with three nutritious meals for one day.
“We have a core value called “Communerosity®”. It’s when community and generosity come together as a powerful force for good,” said Pam Hatt, Pen Air Federal Credit Union’s VP of Marketing. “When 30% of children in Baldwin County are going to bed with empty stomachs, we know we have a responsibility to partner with organizations like Prodisee Pantry who are actively working to provide emergency food and disaster relief for those in need.”
The annual One Family One Day campaign offers donors the chance to “fill the plate” of local families. Each family receives groceries including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, cereals, bread, and other staple grocery items. In addition, Prodisee Pantry offers access to more than a dozen supportive programs and referrals to another 75 social service programs.
“Prodisee Panty itself has seen a fifteen percent increase since April. That equates to over eight hundred families each month who are struggling just to put groceries on the table and in their pantries,” explained Prodisee Pantry’s executive director, Deann Servos. “That number is steadily rising, and we suspect that by year’s end we will be at fifteen hundred families a month.”
One Family One Day donations will be accepted through August 30, 2022. Online donations can be made on the Prodisee Pantry website: prodiseepantry.org/donate. To learn more about Prodisee Pantry, how to volunteer, or the programs they provide, visit prodiseepantry.org.
