PenFed among America’s Best Companies for Veterans

Credit union recognized in Talent Development magazine supplement

TYSONS, VA (September 1, 2016) — PenFed Credit Union is featured in a supplement to the September issue of Talent Development magazine. In the supplement, the Association for Talent Development (ATD) shared best practices from 16 organizations that have proven to be trailblazers in recruiting, developing, and supporting veterans and active duty military. ATD partnered with the Thayer Leader Development Group at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point (TLDG) to recognize the work of leading organizations that are committed to utilizing the unique skill sets of veterans, helping them transition to meaningful work outside the military, and honoring and supporting active duty, National Guard, Reserves, and veterans.

PenFed Credit Union was among 16 companies identified in TD magazine by TLDG as America’s Best Companies for Veterans. PenFed President and CEO James Schenck said, “ATD and the Thayer Leader Development Group have done a wonderful job of shining the spotlight on best practices to recruit and develop veterans in the corporate arena. I’m honored that PenFed was recognized for its leadership in this area and its commitment to our nation’s defenders and all who support them.”

“At TLDG, we honor veterans every day by teaching corporate executives the timeless military leadership principles that have helped build leaders of character for our nation for over two centuries,” said Dan Rice, President of TLDG. “We have a deep commitment to supporting veterans and we are honored to partner with ATD to share the best practices of organizations that are spearheading unique veterans’ initiatives.”

“Our community of talent development professionals is eager to find best practices and the organizations in this supplement provide great examples from which we can all learn,” said Tony Bingham, ATD President and CEO. “We are happy to publish this supplement in support of veterans and the organizations that support their career success.”

This TD magazine supplement is available at www.td.org/td beginning September 1, 2016.
