Pennsylvania’s largest credit union introduces debit card rewards program

HARRISBURG, PA (January 31, 2019) — Pennsylvania’s largest credit union, PSECU, recently launched a new debit card rewards program that allows members to earn $0.05 or $0.10 for eligible PSECU debit card purchases of $10 or over. Initially debuted as a component of the credit union’s record-breaking $22 million 2018 Special Membership Reward, debit card rewards became a PSECU Money Back Banking benefit as of January 1, 2019.

“Money Back Banking is our way of making sure our more than 450,000 members keep more of their hard-earned money where it belongs – with them,” said PSECU President Greg Smith. “Now, debit card rewards join our other member benefits that can help people save almost $1,000 a year.”

PSECU’s new debit card rewards program follows a per-purchase structure. Members with a checking account and one or more qualifying monthly direct deposits totaling at least $500 earn $0.10 for each eligible purchase of $10 or over. Members without direct deposit will earn $0.05 for each eligible purchase of $10 or over.

“At PSECU, we don’t nickel and dime our members for products and services the way some financial institutions do,” added Smith. “In fact, with our new debit card rewards program, we’re giving them nickels and dimes back – literally – when they use their debit card.”

PSECU debit card rewards will be calculated from the previous statement period and post to members’ Regular shares on the first day of the following month. For complete program details, visit psecu.com/debitcardrewards.
