People’s Credit Union and the Newport Gulls honor students at FANatic About Reading Night
MIDDLETOWN, RI (July 17, 2023) — People’s Credit Union and the Newport Gulls celebrated their 2023 FANatic About Reading Program Night on July 12th at Cardines Field in Newport. Before the night’s game, Aquidneck Island elementary school students who participated in the program were honored on the field by the Gulls, their fans, and People’s Credit Union, for completing their summer reading assignments. The FANatic About Reading Program, having just completed its 15th season, gives Newport Gulls college athletes the opportunity to read to students in their classrooms and encourage reading over the summer by rewarding these children with a special recognition at Cardines Field.
