People’s Credit Union Honors Employees

Middletown, RI -  People’s Credit Union recently recognized employees for their dedication to member service and the community.  Maryann Medeiros, Portsmouth Assistant Branch Manager, was honored with the 2012 Employee of the Year Award.  Courtney Hunter, Member Relationship Manager and Kristina Wendell, Marketing Assistant, were both honored with the 2012 Volunteers of the Year Awards.

“It is my pleasure to honor these three women for what they have given to our members and to the community.  Maryann has continued to exceed our expectations and continually goes above and beyond in everything she does.  Courtney and Kristina both are committed to sharing their time and talents in serving our communities,” commented Ellen Ford, People’s President & CEO.

The Employee of the Year is selected from a group of employees that were nominated each trimester to People’s President’s Council.  The purpose of People’s President’s Council is to promote and reward excellence in meeting and exceeding service standards and core values of People’s Credit Union.

Medeiros joined People’s Credit Union in 1995 as a teller.  Through the years she has been promoted to Member Service Representative and to her current position as Assistant Branch Manager of People’s Portsmouth branch.  She was recognized for her dedication to the success of People’s Credit Union.  She puts member service above all else for both external and internal members.  Medeiros resides in Tiverton.

The Volunteer of the Year Awards are given to both a management and non-management employee based on their time dedicated to non-profit organizations in the communities People’s serves.  The winners each received $500 to donate to the non-profit organization of their choice.

Hunter serves on the Board of Directors for the Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County and on the Board of Directors for the Jamestown Arts Center.  She is also an active volunteer with many other organizations in the community.  She resides in Jamestown.

Wendell is a mentor with the Rhode Island Mentoring Program and a member of Newport Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Group.  She also dedicates her time to various organizations within the community.  She resides in West Warwick.
