PFCU donates $5,000 to support three local nonprofit organizations

Voters helped credit union divvy up funds during its Annual Giving Campaign

PHILADELPHIA, PA (January 16, 2019)Philadelphia Federal Credit Union (PFCU) is donating $5,000 to three local nonprofit organizations based on number of votes tallied during the credit union’s Annual Giving Campaign.

Launched in late 2018, the campaign encouraged community members to vote for one of three local nonprofit organizations to receive a donation of up to $5,000 from PFCU. From Giving Tuesday through Jan. 1, 2019, voters selected a charity of their choice on PFCU’s website.

As a result of the campaign, PFCU will donate $2,500 to Depaul USA, which received the most votes; $1,500 to Make the World Better, which came in second; and $1,000 to Haven Women’s House, which still received plenty of community voter support.

PFCU is deeply committed to the communities that it serves. The credit union partners with the participating organizations throughout the year by offering financial workshops or hosting pop-up campaigns outside of select branches to give back to the communities in which they are rooted.

“At PFCU, we’re proud to serve as a community partner and resource for other local organizations. It’s our mission to help individuals in our communities achieve their financial goals and see their families thrive,” said Erin Ellis, Accredited Financial Counselor at PFCU. “Through our Annual Giving Campaign, PFCU is able to pay it forward to deserving organizations that share our values and mission to serve our communities.”

PFCU is a member-owned institution that invests profits back into the community. To learn more about PFCU’s mission, services and upcoming events, visit pfcu.com.
