PremierOne Credit Union recently awarded scholarships to two university-bound members.
Ian Sills of Hollister, CA, and Niki Kazemi of San Jose, CA, accepted their awards during a scholarship awards ceremony held at the credit union's corporate headquarters in San Jose in August. Sills—now attending Stanford University—received the Robert E. DeBarr Memorial Scholarship based on his leadership skills. Kazemi was awarded the Richard Busse Memorial Scholarship based on her community involvement and is now attending the University of California at Irvine.
For the past three years, PremierOne Credit Union has awarded scholarships in support of student members' future educational endeavors.
"We support our community through this sponsorship, and give back to our young members who are the key to our future,” said PremierOne CU President and CEO Andrea Brewer.
The PremierOne Scholarship Program offers two scholarships to graduating high school seniors or undergraduate students, to recognize outstanding leadership skills and excellence in community service. The program was created to honor the late Robert E. DeBarr, a Board of Directors volunteer, and the late Richard Busse, who was part of the Supervisory Committee and served the community for more than 40 years.
"PremierOne Credit Union congratulates our two scholarship recipients and wishes them great success with their academic career," Brewer said.
