PrimeWay donates more than $2,500 in cash and supplies to the Houston SPCA

HOUSTON, TX (September 16, 2013) — On Saturday, September 14, 2013, PrimeWay Federal Credit Union presented the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) with a $2,500.00 check to help with the organization’s mission of freeing animals from suffering, abuse, and exploitation. Also on that day, PrimeWay hosted a Pet Adoption Day to benefit the Houston SPCA. The Houston SPCA brought its mobile adoption unit to PrimeWay’s Heights location for the Pet Adoption Day. PrimeWay paid the adoption fee for each animal that was adopted during the Adoption Day.

During the week leading up to the Adoption Day, each of PrimeWay’s nine branches held a Donation Drive to collect much needed supplies for the Houston SPCA. PrimeWay employees and members donated several hundred items to the Houston SPCA. Some of the items included bleach, office supplies, pet toys, grooming supplies, towels and blankets and old newspapers.

“PrimeWay is proud to be able to give back to our community and our employees enjoy helping great causes like the Houston SPCA,” noted Keith Huckabay, PrimeWay’s Public Relations Specialist. He also added that PrimeWay intends to hold a volunteer weekend at the Houston SPCA and has several other events planned in hopes of helping the organization with their needs.
