PSCU names new Associate Board Director

CUSO appoints Virginia Credit Union CEO, Chris Shockley

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (May 30, 2017)PSCU, the nation’s leading CUSO, announced the appointment of Chris Shockley, President and CEO, Virginia Credit Union (Richmond, Va.), as Associate Director to its board.

“We are anxious to welcome Chris to the PSCU Board,” said Jeff March, President and CEO of Citadel, Pa. and PSCU Board Chair. “As an experienced leader of an established and progressive credit union and an active participant in the credit union and payments communities, we know Chris will contribute valuable insights to the successful governance of the PSCU cooperative.”

Chris joined Virginia Credit Union in 2003 following a 14-year career in retail banking in Virginia and North Carolina. Along with running the largest state-chartered credit union in Virginia, Chris’s community involvement includes serving on the board of directors for Leadership Metro Richmond, chairing the board of directors for the Swift Creek YMCA and serving on the board of trustees for the Virginia and West Virginia MS Society.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Radford University (Va.) and a Master of Business Administration degree from Liberty University (Va.).

PSCU’s Board of Directors is comprised solely of CEOs from credit unions of all asset sizes and varying fields of membership from diverse geographic locations in the U.S. The experience and perspectives of PSCU board members contribute greatly to the overall strength of the CUSO.
