PSECU Chips In golf outing raises $55,000 for Feeding Pennsylvania

HARRISBURG, PA (September 17, 2021) — Pennsylvania’s largest credit union, PSECU, hosted 110 golfers for its annual PSECU Chips In Golf Outing on Thursday, September 16 at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course. Supported by 26 sponsors, the event raised $55,000 for this year’s beneficiary – Feeding Pennsylvania.

“Each year, the PSECU Chips In Golf Outing raises funds to support a statewide nonprofit organization,” said George Rudolph, PSECU’s President and CEO. “This year, we were honored to support Feeding Pennsylvania. This organization has risen to the challenge as the pandemic created additional hunger in our community. We’re humbled by the opportunity to play a part in bringing food assistance to our neighbors across the commonwealth.”

Through a statewide network of eight affiliated food banks, Feeding Pennsylvania secures food and other resources to reduce hunger throughout Pennsylvania. It serves more than two million low-income individuals annually by distributing more than 164 million pounds of food to communities in need.

“Feeding Pennsylvania would like to thank PSECU and all of the Chips In Golf Outing sponsors for their generosity and commitment to fighting hunger in Pennsylvania,” said Jane Clements-Smith, Executive Director of Feeding Pennsylvania. “With two million Pennsylvanians facing hunger, half a million of whom are children, our member food banks are on the front lines, dedicated to making sure that all Pennsylvanians have access to nutritious food. We are grateful for PSECU’s ongoing support of our statewide efforts and look forward to putting these funds to good use.”

This year’s golf outing included breakfast and a warm-up period for golfers, with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. An awards lunch concluded the event. The sponsors, listed below, played a crucial part in ensuring the success of the event.

Since the PSECU Chips In Golf Outing began in 2017, the credit union has raised more than $145,000 for nonprofits, including the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, and Feeding Pennsylvania.

This year’s event set a new fundraising record for the PSECU Chips In Golf Outing. At the event, PSECU presented Feeding Pennsylvania with a check for $54,391. After the event, an anonymous donor generously contributed over $600, bringing the total raised to $55,000.
