PSECU contributes additional funds to “Fill a Glass with Hope” thanks to social media campaign
HARRISBURG, PA (February 27, 2017) — As a result of a successful social media campaign on its Facebook page, PSECU has contributed an additional $1,000 to “Fill a Glass with Hope” in 2017. The credit union previously donated $2,500 toward the initiative at a kickoff event on January 6th during the Pennsylvania Farm Show at the PA Farm Show Complex.
For every “like” that PSECU’s “Fill a Glass with Hope” post received, $1 was allocated toward the 2017 campaign, up to a maximum of $1,000. A total of 1,161 likes were received during the campaign.
“Fill a Glass with Hope” is a partnership between Feeding Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association, Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association, agriculture partners, and business leaders that aims to provide fresh milk to Pennsylvania families in need. Each dollar that is received equates to eight servings of fresh milk. The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, which PSECU also supports, is a direct beneficiary of funds raised through this initiative.
“No one in Pennsylvania should be denied access to nutritious food, including fresh milk, especially the half million children who are at risk of going hungry,” said Jane Clements-Smith, Executive Director of Feeding Pennsylvania. “Receiving fresh milk has been meaningful for the households and families our food banks serve, and we look forward to the growth of this impact in 2017 thanks to generous supporters like PSECU.”

Joe Arthur, Executive Director of the Central PA Food Bank; Jane Clements-Smith, Executive Director of Feeding Pennsylvania; Shawn Baile, Public Relations Coordinator at PSECU; and David Smith, Executive Director of the PA Dairymen’s Association.
