Purdue Federal Credit Union (Purdue Federal), in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBank Indianapolis), has awarded a total of $165,000 to four Lafayette-area non-profit organizations through the Community Multiplier – Member Match Program. The grants include $150,000 in funding from FHLBank Indianapolis and an additional $15,000 in direct contributions from Purdue Federal. The initiative supports local organizations working to strengthen housing stability, provide shelter, and enhance the well-being of community members.

The Community Multiplier – Member Match program is FHLBank Indianapolis’ newest program offering, designed to support targeted affordable housing initiatives that fall outside of FHLBank Indianapolis’ other grant programs. Community Multiplier provides funding for non-profit organizations headquartered in Indiana or Michigan who partner with an FHLBank Indianapolis member financial institution on targeted affordable housing initiatives. With a 10% matching funds commitment from the member financial institution, FHLBank Indianapolis is providing grants between $25,000 and $125,000. The program opened March 27, 2025, with a $5 million allocation and is available until October 1, 2025, or until funds are exhausted.
YWCA Greater Lafayette received a total of $82,500 – including $75,000 from FHLBank Indianapolis and $7,500 from Purdue Federal – to support its domestic violence shelter, which provides emergency housing and critical services to survivors seeking safety and stability.

Lafayette Transitional Housing Center, Inc. was awarded $27,500 – including a $25,000 from FHLBank Indianapolis and $2,500 from Purdue Federal – to enhance its services that help individuals and families overcome homelessness and work toward long-term housing stability.
Greater Lafayette Family Shelter (formerly Family Promise) received $27,500, with $25,000 from FHLBank Indianapolis and $2,500 from Purdue Federal, to expand its transitional housing and case management services for families in crisis.
Homestead Resources was granted $27,500 – including $25,000 from FHLBank Indianapolis and $2,500 from Purdue Federal – to strengthen its homeownership support services through financial counseling and education aimed at preventing homelessness.
