West Lafayette, Ind. – July 31, 2012 – The Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce, Purdue Federal Credit Union (Purdue Federal) and Purdue University North Central will co-host a ribbon-cutting event in honor of the grand opening of the Purdue University North Central Campus Branch of Purdue Federal at 9:30 a.m. CDT, on Friday, August 10, on the main floor of the Library-Student-Faculty Building at the Purdue University North Central campus.
“Purdue North Central welcomes Purdue Federal Credit Union to our campus,” said Purdue University North Central Chancellor Dr. James B. Dworkin. “The credit union offers a convenient location and a variety of essential services to our students, faculty and staff. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
The Purdue University North Central Branch represents the shared vision of Greater La Porte Chamber of Commerce, Purdue Federal and Purdue University North Central to improve the financial well-being of Purdue University North Central students, faculty and staff. Purdue Federal offers a free student checking account with perks including Popmoney® person-to-person payments, online check deposits and more. Purdue Federal staff will also partner with Purdue University North Central to provide financial education as well as free one-on-one counseling sessions. Educational topics include, but are not limited to, appropriate ways to use debit cards, how checking and savings accounts work, how to reconcile a checking account, how to create a budget, and how to manage one’s credit.
Beginning Monday, August 6, the Purdue University North Central Branch, located in the Library-Student-Faculty Building Room 111, will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Full service is also available at the Monroe Street Branch located at 3404 Monroe Street in La Porte. Members may also access their accounts through more than 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs and 4,000 network branches nationwide, the My PurdueFed mobile banking app, and online at purduefed.com.
