Raiz Federal Credit Union and Border Heritage Magazine unite for Villa Maria at Corazones Enamorados ribbon cutting

El Paso, TX (February 12, 2026) |

Raiz Federal Credit Union, in partnership with Border Heritage Magazine and joined by representatives from the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the El Paso community to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Corazones Enamorados Art Exhibit on Tuesday, February 10, at the Raiz Rojas branch. This special event marked the launch of an exhibit that brings together art, compassion, and advocacy for women in need.

Throughout February, three heart-inspired sculptures will be on display in the lobbies of Raiz’s Joe Battle, Village Court, and Rojas branches. Commissioned in collaboration with local partners and artists, these vibrant works are part of a citywide series available for purchase, with proceeds going directly to Villa Maria.

With the goal of filling the city with messages of love and solidarity, Raiz is unveiling three monumental Corazones Enamorados hearts, each standing seven feet tall, at its branches. Created by artists Adrián and Alfredo Castruita and belonging to the Heart to be Healed Foundation, represented by Héctor Enríquez, these sculptures invite the community to “paint the city with hearts” and support those most in need. The same hearts were previously featured at El Paso International Airport in 2025 and now continue their journey at Raiz branches, sharing a message of love, healing, and community.

This initiative reflects Raiz’s commitment to uniting diverse partners and uplifting the city. By bringing together artists, nonprofit leaders, and organizations like Villa Maria, Raiz demonstrates the power of community to create opportunities, foster healing, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of El Pasoans. Proceeds from the exhibit benefit Villa Maria, a valued partner providing support and new beginnings for women as they rebuild their lives.

“We are proud to collaborate on an exhibit that highlights local art as a key part of community bonding," said Carmen Becerra, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Border Heritage Magazine. "Corazones Enamorados is more than just an art exhibition; it celebrates El Paso’s lively culture and demonstrates the power of combining creativity with compassion."

Max Villaronga, President and CEO of Raiz Federal Credit Union, added, “At Raiz, we are dedicated to strengthening El Paso by supporting initiatives that go beyond financial services to uplift and empower the community. Corazones Enamorados demonstrates how our community comes together to inspire hope, encourage creativity, and support one another."

The Corazones Enamorados Art Exhibit is open to the public through February 28. Everyone is encouraged to visit, enjoy the art, and help make a difference by supporting Villa Maria’s important mission.
