Redwood Credit Union exceeds United Way campaign goal

RCU’s Employee Giving Campaign Contributes  Over $98,000 to Local United Way Chapters

SANTA ROSA, CA (October 10, 2014) -- Redwood Credit Union (RCU) completed its 2014 United Way workplace giving campaign this week, with total contributions of $98,175, exceeding this year’s campaign goal of $98,000. The Credit Union raised $96,000 for United Way last year.

“Giving back to the communities we serve is a core value for RCU, and I’m proud to see our employees and Officials embrace our United Way campaign for the sixteenth consecutive year,” said Brett Martinez, President and CEO of RCU.

The Credit Union offered several unique incentives to encourage employees to contribute: prize raffles, casual days, smoothie parties and more. RCU’s campaign efforts support both United Way of the Wine Country, and United Way of the Bay Area. Because the Credit Union serves Members in multiple North Bay counties and San Francisco, the contributions all the communities RCU serves, including Sonoma, Mendocino, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, Lake and Solano Counties.

In addition to supporting with monetary contributions, RCU employees recently volunteered in United Way’s Day of Caring. Volunteers this year focused on two projects in Santa Rosa, helping to refurbish a bicycle shed for the North Bay Children’s Center and to pack meals for Council on Aging.

RCU supports a variety of other nonprofits and community efforts throughout the year, including the American Red Cross, local volunteer centers and the Sonoma, Marin and Mendocino County Human Races.
