A team of nine volunteers from Redwood Credit Union (RCU) recently participated in the Rohnert Park Relay for Life. The RCU “Reddy for a Cure” team – a play on words based on RCU’s mascot, Reddy the Redwood – raised over $1,000 for the American Cancer Society.
“Redwood Credit Union is committed to our communities, and we are proud to sponsor and participate in the ACS Relay for Life to raise awareness and funds for cancer research,” said Robin McKenzie, a Senior Vice President at RCU. “Many of our employees are passionate about the cause, as cancer touches the lives of so many people, and several RCU employees also serve on various Relay for Life volunteer committees,” McKenzie added.
RCU supports the American Cancer Society as a Gold Level Sponsor, and will be present at three additional upcoming Relays in the North Bay communities they serve, including: Windsor, July 24-25; Santa Rosa, September 11-12; and Petaluma, September 25-26. In addition to the Relay for Life events, Redwood Credit Union employees are committed to a myriad of non-profit organizations including the American Heart Association, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, United Way and others.
Redwood Credit Union is a full-service financial cooperative serving San Francisco and the 7 North Bay counties of Sonoma, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Lake, Contra Costa, and Solano, with 15 branch locations from San Francisco to Point Arena. RCU has $1.7 billion in assets and membership has grown to nearly 150,000. For more information about Redwood Credit Union, please call
