Redwood Credit Union Re-elects Volunteer Officials to Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee
Santa Rosa, CA – Redwood Credit Union (RCU) recently re-elected five volunteer Officials for three-year terms from 2011 to 2014. Incumbents Robert Steele, Debra Watts and Robert Wieck have been re-elected to the Credit Union’s Board of Directors and incumbents David Gouin and Krishna Kumar have been re-elected to RCU’s Supervisory Committee. RCU’s volunteer Board of Directors sets the Credit Union’s strategic direction and policies, and the volunteer Supervisory Committee oversees the audit function for the Credit Union.
Robert Steele has been a volunteer RCU Official since 1999, and is currently a Commercial Insurance Product Director for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, located in Novato, CA, where he has worked for over thirty-four years.
Debra Watts has been a volunteer for Redwood Credit Union since 1976 and has held a variety of positions on the Board. She is retired after more than thirty-seven years of service from the County of Sonoma, serving as the Manager of the Customer Services Division of the Permit and Resource Management Department.
Robert Wieck has been a volunteer for Redwood Credit Union since 1976, and has served on the Board of Directors since 1979. Mr. Wieck is retired after thirty years of service to the County of Sonoma, where he most recently served as Administration Division Director for the Department of Health Services.
Krishna Kumar has served on RCU’s Supervisory Committee since 2003, and is General Manager of the Valley of the Moon Water District. He was appointed by 1st District Supervisor Valerie Brown to be a member of the Sonoma Valley Groundwater Basin Advisory Panel. Krishna received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Cochin University of Science & Technology, India. In addition to volunteering his time to benefit several local nonprofits, Krishna has served on the Board of Directors of the Sonoma Sea Dragons.
David Gouin has over 30 years of public service experience with the County of Sonoma, City of Vacaville and City of Santa Rosa, and currently serves as the Director of Economic Development and Housing for the City of Santa Rosa. Mr. Gouin has been involved in several local organizations such as Petaluma Ecumenical Properties, Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Santa Rosa and is currently on the Board of the Bennett Valley Union School District.
The Credit Union’s Officials have also selected their officers for the year as follows: Debra Watts as Board Chair, Robert Wieck as Board Vice Chair, Dave Imoto as Board Secretary, Rod Dole as Board Treasurer, David Gouin as Supervisory Committee Chair, and Steve Sharpe as Supervisory Committee Secretary.
