BEAVERTON, OR (November 1, 2018) — Rivermark Community Credit Union is pleased to announce that Brian Griffis has been promoted to chief financial officer, effective November 1, 2018.
Brian started his career in credit unions in 2007, first as a teller and then working his way up through finance and accounting. After graduating with a Master’s in Business Administration in 2012 and completing CUNA Financial Management School in 2013 he took on greater leadership responsibilities. Before joining Rivermark as Vice President of Finance, he oversaw accounting, finance, human resources, and facilities at Point West Credit Union.
“Brian has been a key contributor on the leadership team since September 2017,” said Seth Schaefer, President and CEO of Rivermark. “Brian is passionate about the role of credit unions in the community and the need for financial inclusion of every person. I am excited to have him take on the responsibilities of CFO for Rivermark.”
Brian received his Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Oregon in 2005, followed by his MBA from Marylhurst University in 2012. He graduated from CUNA Financial Management school in 2013 and has been an active member of the CUNA CFO Council since 2013. Brian has been an active member of the local community, serving as Treasurer of Venture Portland; involved with Go Lloyd and Lloyd Enhanced Services District from 2014 to 2017; and President of the Lloyd Community Association in 2017.
