Robins Financial Credit Union participates in a community project

WARNER ROBINS, GA (November 22, 2016) — Robins Financial Credit Union recently contributed over $82,000 to five organizations as part of their annual Community Project. Organizations are selected by a Board Committee based on their reputation and the work they do for the community.

Robins Financial is committed to the communities they serve and give back whenever possible. This funding from this year’s Community Project will fill a specific need for the selected organizations as follows:

Family Promise helps homeless families by partnering with social service agencies in order to help these families obtain an independent, self-sustainable livelihood. They received a total of $7,000 to assist with the replacement of computers and office furniture.

Methodist Home for Children and Youth help children, through no fault of their own, who have found themselves without a family to provide for and care for them. They offer these children stability and structure as well as nurture and encouragement to believe in themselves and to live their lives with purpose. They received a total of $22,000 to purchase new bedroom furniture for the cottages and group homes.

Purple Heart Homes is dedicated to providing housing for service connected disabled Veterans who currently own a home that no longer meets their physical needs. This initiative was developed to help make lifer easier for older Veterans and their caregivers a little easier, so they can safely age in the comfort of their own homes. They received a total of $15,000 for the renovation of a local Veteran’s home.

Rainbow House Children’s Resource Center serves child sexual abuse victims by offering crisis counseling, referrals to community resources and court accompaniment. They also provide parenting programs to help new mothers as well as child development and growth, effective discipline for your child and support with continuing education or job advancement. They received a total of $11,825 for renovations including a new air conditioning unit, new roof, carpet cleaning, painting and an exterior pressure wash of the building.

Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wish of every child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition and enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. They received $27,000 to be able to grant the wishes of 3 children in the Middle Georgia area.
