Royal Credit Union President/CEO Brandon Riechers has been elected to serve as Chair of the Wisconsin Credit Union League (The League) Board of Directors. The League is the dues-supported trade association for Wisconsin's credit unions--not-for-profit financial institutions that are cooperatively owned by their more than 3.4 million Members. The election took place May 6, 2021 at The League’s Annual Meeting, which was held virtually. Riechers will serve a one-year term as Chair.
The League's Board guides the direction the association takes on behalf of Wisconsin's credit unions and their Members. It is composed of nine directors who represent the state by geography and by asset size. Additionally, two non-voting young professional advisors sit on the board and actively participate in quarterly Board meetings. The League represents the interests of over 120 Wisconsin credit unions and is dedicated to promoting the credit union difference through advocacy, education, and public service.
“I am honored to serve as the Chair of The League Board of Directors,” said Brandon Riechers, Royal Credit Union President/CEO. “I look forward to working with the Board to advocate on behalf of our more than 3 million Members. Credit unions play an important role in our economy and positively impact Wisconsin families, businesses, and the communities we serve.”
Riechers has worked at Royal Credit Union for 25 years and was named President/CEO in 2017. Prior to CEO, he was the EVP-Chief Lending Officer. Riechers joined the Wisconsin Credit Union League Board in 2019, and most recently served as Secretary.
