RRCU awards 10 scholarships to outstanding senior students

RRCU is proud to announce the awarding of ten $1500 scholarships to outstanding high school seniors as part of its ongoing commitment to education and community support. These scholarships recognize the hard work, dedication, and achievements of local students, empowering them to pursue higher education, begin their journey into financial education and achieve their academic dreams.

Congratulations to: Brooklynne Shaw (Ford High School), Emma Campbell (Redwater High School), Jacelyn Brown (Fouke High School), Kabrean King (Arkansas High School), Kaeden Lichty (Hooks High School), Keele Youngblood (Atlanta High School), Kimberli Garica Olade (Texas High School), Noah Griffin (Pleasant Grove High School), Reece Wilson (Rivercrest High School) and Zoe Hawkins (James Bowie High School).

Each year, RRCU offers scholarships to deserving students who demonstrate excellence in academics, leadership, and community service. “I am beyond honored to receive a scholarship from RRCU. Having a credit union in my community that consistently gives back is truly meaningful. This support reinforces the importance of investing in education and the future of students like myself,” said Kabrean King, scholarship recipient. This year's recipients were selected from a competitive pool of applicants, and their achievements reflect the values of dedication, integrity, and perseverance that our credit union champions.

"We are honored to support these talented students on their educational journey," said Emily Bright, Financial Advocate at RRCU.  "As they take the next step, we also encourage them to embrace financial literacy as a key to long-term success.”

The scholarship recipients will use the funds to support their college tuition and expenses as they embark on the next chapter of their academic careers. RRCU remains committed to fostering opportunities for young minds and strengthening the community through educational initiatives. Partnering schools, qualify for their seniors to be able to apply by: hosting a Reality Fair, attending a Community Reality Fair and/or having a representative come to the school for classroom presentations.
