SAN DIEGO, CA (June 16, 2014) -- San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, was proud to support women battling breast cancer and educate the community about breast cancer prevention and detection by serving as a sponsor of Michelle’s Place 2014 Pink & Black Spring Fling.
The 2014 Michelle’s Place Spring Fling was held Saturday, June 14, at the Whispering Oaks Terrace at 39417 Pala Road in Temecula. The fundraiser featured live music, entertainment and food and “Gone Country” was the theme for this year’s Spring Fling. For event information.
Established by the family members of Michelle Watson, who passed away at age 26, Michelle’s Place, a non-profit organization based in Temecula, Calif., serves as a resource center where women can go for help with breast cancer-related challenges. Michelle’s Place provides the latest information regarding treatment options, coping strategies, up-to-date research and clinical developments so that people and family members can help in planning and be informed when making treatment decisions. It also supports education for women not yet touched by the disease.
“Michelle’s Place serves as an example of a community coming together and replacing bitter disappointment with positive action. SDCCU is proud to support the organization’s mission of service to make it better for others touched by this unrelenting disease,” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Halleck.
Michelle’s Place is just one of the more than 75 non-profit organizations and community events supported annually by SDCCU.
